PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape capable of being excellently loaded/unloaded and securing durability by using a leader tape having a good property in strength and the like to be joined to the leading end of the magnetic tape which is wound arround a single reel. SOLUTION: The single reel 5, arround which the magnetic tape 4 is wound, is housed rotatably in a cartridge case 2, one end of a leader tape 7 is stuck to the leading end of the magnetic tape 4, and a leader member 3 for pulling out the magnetic tape 4 to a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus is stuck to the other end of the leader tape 7.
