PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify a word indicating the entity of a specified word from words on the same semantic concepts as the specified word. SOLUTION: A keyword specifying device comprises: an ontology definition means; an evaluation rule means wherein the degrees of strength of the relation of the respective semantic concepts and respective properties are set; a keyword extraction means for extracting one or more keywords including at least the specified word and attribute information indicating the semantic concept or property of the respective keywords from a specified document; a storage means for storing the plurality of words and related information by correlating them with each other; an instance retrieval means for retrieving the words matching the specified word as instance candidates; and an instance specifying means for evaluating the respective instance candidates for which the semantic concepts of the respective pieces of the relating information match the semantic concepts of the respective keywords and the respective pieces of the related information match the respective keywords according to evaluation rules and specifying an instance equivalent to the entity of the specified word on the basis of the evaluated result.
