PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a transfer circuit capable of transferring data in an optional rectangular area between memories having different memory structures at high speed. SOLUTION: Each of address difference registers 24 and 26 of the transfer circuit 11 stores a difference between start addresses of adjacent horizontal lines in each of a main memory 2 that is a transfer source and a video memory 3 that is a transfer destination, respectively. Each address calculation part 33 or 34 of the transfer circuit 11 calculates the address to be transferred next in each memory 2 or 3 every data transfer by a transfer processing part 31, and instructs it to the transfer processing part 31. When a transfer control part 32 determines arrival at a terminal end of a rectangular area in the present horizontal line, each address calculation part 33 or 34 calculates the start address of a rectangular area of the next line in reference to each address difference register 24 or 26, and instructs it to the transfer processing part 31.
