PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particle size distribution measuring instrument capable of corresponding to future development sharply enhancing the workability in a cell housing space and flexibly taking a new measuring system. SOLUTION: The particle size distribution measuring instrument is equipped with a transparent cell 2 for housing the particle group dispersed in a dispersing medium, a light source for irradiating the particle group in the transparent cell 2 with light, a plurality of photodetectors 5 discretely arranged to detect the intensity of the diffracted scattered light emitted by the irradiation with light and an arithmetic device 6 for calculating the particle size distribution of the particle group on the basis of the light intensity signals outputted from the photodetectors. A pair of housings 7A and 7B discretely arranged so as to house the light sources and the photodetectors 5 are provided and cell housing spaces S are formed between the mutually opposed walls of the housings 7A and 7B so as to pierce the housings from one surfaces to the opposed surfaces thereof.
