PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator comprising a door open displaying means having high visibility without affected by a door opening/closing means such as a handy-grip recessed part and a handle, even when the door open displaying means is mounted near the door opening/closing means. SOLUTION: This refrigerator comprises opening/closing switches mounted on a side-by-side pair of opening and closing doors 11, display devices 200 mounted on panels 103 respectively mounted on lower parts of the opening and closing doors 11, handy-grip recessed parts 106 formed at lower end parts of the panels 103, and a controller 60 for distributing electric power to the display devices 200 in opening. Each display device 200 comprises a rod-shaped transparent diffusion plate 202, and a light source 201 mounted at one side in the longitudinal direction of the diffusion plate 202, the diffusion plate 202 has a flat front face P1 constituting one side of a long side adjacent to a door face, has an irregular pattern on a rear face P2 opposite to the front face, and further has a large curved face gradually thinned from one end in the longitudinal direction where a light source 201 is mounted, to the other side, the control part 60 puts on a light from a light source side in the longitudinal direction toward the other end side, and gradually puts off a light from the other end side toward the light source side, and the pair of display devices 200 and the handy-grip recessed part 106 are vertically arranged.
