PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interior coating composition which has excellent VOC adsorptive power, is effective for sick house syndrome, can provide desired beauty without restriction on fine coating modes, and can maintain the beauty for a long time. SOLUTION: The interior coating composition comprises (A) 100 pts. wt. synthetic resin and (B) 0.1-30 pts. wt. adsorbent, and the adsorbent is a compound obtained by supporting a compound having an amino group on a porous inorganic powder having a phosphoric acid compound represented by composition formula 1: X<SP>1</SP><SB>a</SB>(PO<SB>4</SB>)<SB>b</SB>Y<SB>c</SB>dH<SB>2</SB>O [wherein X<SP>1</SP>is a p-valent metallic ion (wherein p is 2 or 3); Y is a q-valent anion (wherein q is 1, 2 or 3); a, b, and c meet p×a-(3b+q×c)=0 (wherein a and b are each a positive real number; c is 0 or a positive real number; and d is a real number of≥0)] as a major component.
