PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for administering a growth factor to promote neuronal regeneration, thus repairing the damage of peripheral nerve. SOLUTION: A mammalian nerve is brought into contact with a produced platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) to promote neuronal growth. Further, the mammalian nerve is preferably brought into contact with the second factor such as an insulin-like growth factor (IGF) to promote neuronal growth. The IGF is especially preferably IGF-I.
