PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trimming member capable of picking an end of a tag and easily pulling out a string-like member, and releasing catch-in of a cover lip and re-arranging it at a predetermined position, and a method for assembling the same. SOLUTION: A weather strip 20 (a trimming member) has a trim part 2 of a substantially U-shaped section comprising a bottom wall part 22 and a pair of side wall parts 23, 24 extending from both ends of the bottom wall part 22, and also has a cover lip 25 extending from an outer surface of the trim part 21 and a string-like member 26 to release catch-in of the cover lip 25 formed on an outer surface of a side wall part 23 of the trim part 21 facing the cover lip 25 or an inner surface of the cover lip 25. A resin-made thin-walled sheet-like tag 40 is provided on a tearing end at an end of the string-like member 26. The tag 40 is wider than the side wall part 23 of the trim part 21, and formed in a substantially cruciform shape in plan view so as to easily pick up the end thereof. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
