The brake lining (10) is fitted in a housing (50) of a brake calliper of a disc brake unit of a motor vehicle, with a friction lining (14) installed on a support plate (12), and means for the preferably spring retention of the lining in direction radial to the brake disc. Means are provided for the contacting of the brake lining in and against the direction of rotation of the brake disc in the lining housing, and the brake lining is constructed to be supported against the lining housing. An independent claim is included for a system consisting of a lining housing of a brake calliper, whereby the lining housing has means to support the brake lining. |
