PURPOSE:To reduce deterioration in a thermal battery performance when it is stored in a long period by preliminarily heating and cooling unit cell power generating elements so as to coagulate it again, and storing them with heating bodies laminated with the elements each other. CONSTITUTION:Unit cell powder generating elements are preliminary heated, and thereby electrolyte is once melted, then electrolyte solution is permeated in a space with in each unit cell powder generating element. Next, they are laminated with heating bodies each other and stored in a case. The spaces within the elements are substantially eliminated when the elements are preliminary heated so that the electrolyte is once melted, and changes in the compression force between electrodes are reduced at the time of activating the cell so that changes in shapes of the cell constituents after a lapse of time are reduced. It is thus possible to restain reduction of the discharge voltage as well as the discharge capacity, and to make the performance of the cell stable. |
