PURPOSE:To prevent an upstream upper belt from making contact with a multi- folded cut sheet by providing a variably adjusting mechanism for adapting the space between upper and lower belts for conveying of the multi-folded cut sheet. CONSTITUTION:When a cut sheet 14 having bi-folded crease lines is conveyed, a variably adjusting mechanism 50 is operated so as to raise a second upper belt arm 51. That is, a drive mechanism is operated to rotate a screw member 61 through the intermediary of bevel gears 64, 62. Then, a lower mount bed 60 is screwed onto the screw member 61 so that the second upper conveying arm 51 is elevated along shafts 53, 59, and accordingly the conveying surface 48a of a second upper belt 48 is elevated. As a result, the space between the conveying surface 48a of the upper belt 48 and the conveying surface 93a of a second lower belt 93 having a conveying speed lower than that of the upper belt 48 is set to a predetermined value C, and accordingly, the upper leaf 14a of the cut sheet 14 having the crease lines and conveyed on the lower belt 93 is prevented from making contact with the conveying surface 48a of the upper belt 48, thereby it is possible to prevent the crease lines of the cut sheets 14 from being deteriorated. |
