The light chain and heavy chain variable region gene for the monoclonal antibody HAb18 of human liver cancer, is new. The light chain and heavy chain variable region gene for the monoclonal antibody HAb18 of human liver cancer, the polypeptide coded by the gene, and the application of the gene and the polypeptide to preparing the medicines for diagnosing and treating tumor or inflammation are disclosed. A set of primer is designed for successfully cloning the said gene from the hybridoma cell of liver cancer specific monoclonal antibody HAb18. The gene engineering method can be used to configure multiple genetically engineered low-molecular antibodies for diagnosing and treating liver cancer.
