The closure device has a one-hand swivel grip (5) supported on the roof peak part (2) in the vehicle longitudinal central plane (4). A connecting rod (9) is provided, running symmetrically to the vehicle longitudinal central plane and transmitting a pivot movement. The end parts (7) of the connecting rod in the closed position are provided with lock components (12) engaging in counter bearings on the windscreen frame, which for their part are pivotably guided by a holding body (13). The connecting rod is formed as a torsion bar (T) locatable i common with the swivel grip (5) around its pivot bearing (14) on the roof peak part (2) and its end parts (7) are located in the area of the lock components (12) statically on the roof peak part.
