PURPOSE:To obtain an electric double layer capacitor impregnated with an electrolyte of an organic solvent, having a less leakage current and electrostatic capacity change rate by employing as the electrolyte tetraalkylammonium phthalate. CONSTITUTION:Two polarized electrodes 1 formed of active carbon fiber are brought into contact with one another through a separator 2 made of polypropylene nonwoven fabric, and integrated by clamping them with Teflon screws 3. Then, it is filled in a bin 4 filled with electrolyte, protrusions formed on the tops of the electrodes 1 are exposed out of the bin 4, and used as measuring terminals 5. In this structure, propylene carbonate, gamma-butyl lactone, etc., is employed as an organic solvent, and tetraalkylammonium is employed as the electrolyte. The alkyl group includes methyl group, ethyl group, propyl group, butyl group, etc. |
