The present invention relates to novel microorganisms, which are able to utilize cyclopentene derivatives of the general formula VII, in which Re1 represents alkyl containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkoxy containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms, aryl or aryloxy, as sole nitrogen source, as sole carbon source or as sole carbon and nitrogen source. The invention further relates to novel enzymes that are able to hydrolyze cyclopentene derivatives of the general formula VII. In the invention, there is also describe a novel process for preparing (1R,4S)- or (1S, 4R)-1-amino-4-(hydroxymethyl)-2-cyclopentene of the general formulae I and II and/or (1S, 4R)- or (1R, 4S)-aminoalcohol derivatives of the general formulae III and IV, in which Re1 is as specified above. |
