A foaming cleansing composition comprises anionic surfactant such as alkyl glycol carboxylic acids or their salts, and oxyethylenated compound with a molecular weight of >= 300000 g/mol. An independent claim is also included for a method, comprising applying the inventive composition to the skin, the scalp and/or the hair.
