Joining two metal sheets (1,2), one made from an aluminum material and the other made from iron or titanium material by a welding-soldering joint using a filler material comprises providing the iron or titanium material with a coating based on zinc or aluminum in the joining region before the filler material is applied to form a seam (4) by fusion. The two metal sheets are joined in the form of a blunt joint with the filler material being applied to both sides of the metal sheets in a region bridging the joint on the metal sheet consisting of the iron or titanium material over a width corresponding to three times the thickness of the metal sheet.
