<p>Method for monitoring the use of a water filter fitted with a tap (2) comprises calculating its useful life and storing it in a computer, either before initial use or after changing filters. The time of use is measured each time the tap is opened and closed and fed to the computer. A signal is sent to a display (31) when the maximum time of use is reached. An independent claim is included for apparatus for carrying out the method comprising a housing (3), which also forms the handgrip for the tap, and a microprocessor and acoustic alarm or optical display unit mounted in the housing.</p> |
