The device has an application (AW1-AW3) with a data interface to a central service for processing data. A proxy instance (SI1, SI2) is connected to the application via a data connection for exchange of the data, while the instance is connected to a set of additional data processing devices for the exchange of another data. The exchange of the former data between the application and the instance is carried out via the interface. An independent claim is also included for an ad-hoc network comprising a data processing device.
