Video compression transcoding

摘要

Video coding and transcoding processes directed towards the problem of receiving a video signal in one coded format and outputting the signal in a second, different format. Metadata defining coding parameters for a second video compression coding is included in the output of a first video compression encoder which uses a first compression method different from the second compression method. A transcoding process extracts coding parameters relevant to an output format from an input signal which input signal is compressed according to a different input format. The coding parameters in the metadata may be represented as differences with respect to the corresponding coding parameters of the first compression coding.
