Exothermic rod for underwater oxygen thermal cutting of metals consists of a metal tube with a length of up to 500 mm, inside which, along its length, the wires made of material burning in oxygen with high specific heat of combustion are located, in such a manner that between the wires a free passage for oxygen supplied from the external source remains along the length of tube. Tube bore is 10 - 18 mm, and the wire burning in oxygen occupies 0.7 - 0.9 of internal space of the tube and has a diameter of 0.2 - 1 mm.
