METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE TOXICITY INDICATOR OF COMBUSTION PRODUCTS EMITTED BY AN INSULATED WIRE OR CABLE

The proposed method for determining the toxicity indicator of combustion products emitted by an insulated wire or cable consists in burning the sample of the insulating material of the wire or cable in a closed chamber of known volume and monitoring the content of toxic substances in the combustion products for a specified period of time. The toxicity indicator for the specified wire or cable is calculated by a specified equation with consideration for the content of toxic substances in the chamber, the weight and the length of the wire or cable, and the degree of hazard for health of human beings caused by the combustion products.
