The invention relates to a wheel bearing for a non-driven vehicle axle, preferably a trailer axle. Said bearing comprises a steering swivel (1) with fixed rotation, on which is configured a bearing seat (7) for the inner race (5) of a tapered-roller bearing (3, 4), which comprises at least two rows of bearings and bears a wheel hub (2) that is rotatably mounted on the steering swivel (1). Said bearing also comprises a screw element (28) that can be screwed onto the free end of the steering swivel (1) and co-operates axially against the inner race (5) of the outer tapered-roller bearing (3). To achieve a compact central screw connection with a short axial length, the steering swivel (1) is provided with a central internal thread (34) inside the bearing seat (7), the screw element (28) engaging with said thread by means of an external threaded section (32). |
