A dynamo electric machine for an aircraft gas turbine engine includes a housing 11 supporting a stator 13 of the dynamo electric machine, a rotor assembly 14 rotatably mounted in the housing 11 and including an elongate hollow rotor shaft 15, a main shaft 18 for connection at one end to the associated gas turbine engine assembly, said main shaft 18 extending coaxially within said hollow rotor shaft 15, and a sleeve-like member 21 of electrically insulating material between said rotor shaft 15 and said main shaft 18, said sleeve-like member 21 providing an electrically insulating driving connection between said main shaft 18 and said rotor shaft 15 whereby said main shaft 18 and said rotor shaft 15 rotate together.
