The invention relates to a coated object comprising a porous coating and an electrically non-insulative coating and a substrate, wherein the porous coating is on top of the non-insulative coating. The surface resistivity of the coated device is not increased by more than a factor of 8 by the presence of the porous layer in comparison to that of the single electrically non-insulative coating on the same substrate. This coated object may demonstrate anti-reflective - anti-static or anti-glare - anti-static properties.
