The addresses of several communication adapters are set to the same address of the communication adapters. A packet filtering mode is set to all adapters other than the one adapter in which all packets are received. An adapter is switched to another when the adapter is disconnected during communication. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) communication adapter switching apparatus; and (2) method of selecting optimal adapter.
