A fuel cell with reformer is disclosed which comprises a reformer layer (52) containing a catalyst (50) for reforming a hydrogen-containing material, a space layer (60) through which an air containing oxygen flows, a solid electrolyte layer (56) which is interposed between the reformer layer (52) and the space layer (60) and composed of a proton-conducting material or an oxygen ion- conducting material, a first electrode layer (54) formed on one surface of the solid electrolyte layer (56) which is opposite to the reformer cell (52), and a second electrode layer (58) formed on another surface of the solid electrolyte layer (56) which is opposite to the space layer (60). The fuel cell outputs electric energy from the first electrode layer (54) and the second electrode layer (58). The fuel cell with reformer has few safety problems and can be realized as a simple system. Furthermore, the fuel cell with reformer can solve heating problems. |
