A battery pack and a method of producing it, where the battery pack has a battery (2), a terminal unit (13), and an elastic body (23). The battery (2) is formed such that a battery case (3) and a cap (6) of a sealing plate for sealing one end opening of the battery case work as connection electrodes having polarities different from each other. In the terminal unit (13), external connection terminals (15, 16) respectively connected to the connection electrodes and an insulation cover are integrated, and the terminal unit (13) covers at least one end portion of the battery case (3). The elastic body (23) is provided in a compressed state between the one end of the battery case (3) and the terminal unit (13). The terminal unit (13) and the battery case (3) are fixed to each other with the distance between the terminal unit (13) and the other end of the battery case (3) restricted. This makes the battery pack simple and low cost and provides highly reliable connection at the external connection terminals when the battery pack is set in portable electronic equipment. |
