The overvoltage protection (1) has thermal protection (2) connected to the electrical equipment through a connector (3) with an electric current interrupter (4) opened by a spring and held closed by a catch (5). When the temperature exceeds a threshold value a bimetallic strip (6) adjacent to the overvoltage protection bends sufficiently away from the catch to allow the circuit to open.
