PURPOSE:To omit the troublesome adjustment of the attachment position of a positioning sensor by correcting the stopping position of a recording medium by an extent equal to the difference stored in a storage means when the recording medium is read. CONSTITUTION:An instruction means 16 sets the correction value for the stop position of a recording medium 1 before the medium 1 is read. Then a test recording medium 10 is read by a reading means 5, and a counter means 12 counts continuously the clock pulses until the means 5 moves and starts to read the simulation data. An arithmetic means 14 calculates the difference between the counted number of clock pulses and the prescribed number of clock pulses. The calculated difference is stored in a storage means 15. When the medium 1 is read by the means 5, the stop position of the medium 1 is corrected by an extent equal to the difference stored in the means 15 based on the detection output of a detection means 9. Thus it is possible to omit the trouble adjustment required for the attachment position of a positioning sensor of a read/write part for the record data on a magnetic stripe. |
