PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a liquid level by using an inexpensive back pressure type pressure sensor even in various using environments, concerning a back pressure type liquid level detection device for detecting presence of liquid in a container. SOLUTION: A pipe 7 is inserted into the container 1 storing the liquid 3. Pressurized gas is supplied into the pipe 7, and the gas is always outputted from the tip, and bubbles are generated in the liquid from the tip when the pipe tip is in contact with the liquid surface or in the liquid. A liquid level detection part 11 measures a gas pressure in the pipe 7 by using the back pressure type pressure sensor, and detects presence of the liquid at the pipe 7 tip when a pressure change occurs in the pressure measured sequentially.
