PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scroll compressor with a chip seal of revised shape in a cross section because of an ordinary one has an approximately rectangular cross section which causes the edge to interfere with the groove wall face of the chip seal to lower floating performance when torsional force works on the chip seal. SOLUTION: The chip seal 244 is shaped in the cross section with a chamfered escape portion 286a outside a counter seal face in an approximately half roll section ranging from a roll finishing end 285 of a rotary scroll 213 to a roll beginning side and a chamfered escape portion 287a inside the counter seal face in another section than the approximately half roll section ranging from the roll finishing end 285 of the rotary scroll 213.
