PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase transmission efficiency by reducing the frequency of a wavelength switching of a wavelength variable light source of a master node, in transmitting an optical signal of outgoing data from the master node to a plurality of different slave nodes.

SOLUTION: When respectively different wavelengths λ1 to λ8 are allocated to the optical signal of an outgoing packet data addressed to eight slave nodes 1 to 8 from the master node 10 and the master node 10 appropriately switches the wavelength to perform optical communication in an optical network of a wavelength division multiplex and time division multiplex mode, the data to be transmitted to the slave nodes 1 to 8 are temporarily stored in memories 121 to 128 provided in the master node 10; the transmitting order of the stored data is controlled; and data addressed to the same slave node are transmitted continuously. At this time, data stored to the memories 121 to 128 for the longest period of time are transmitted preferentially.
