<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable electric vehicle controlling device. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle controlling device comprises a circuit breaker that is mounted on an electric vehicle to interrupt electric power, a reactor connected in series to this circuit breaker, a CVCF inverter that converts DC power supplied via the reactor into AC power, a charging resistor connected in series to the reactor, a first semiconductor element connected in series to the reactor and parallel to the charging resistor, a current-reducing resistor connected in series to the reactor and parallel to the charging resistor, a second semiconductor element connected in series to the current-reducing resistor, and one gate drive circuit that controls the first and second semiconductors.
