PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voice output device which is provided with a mute function which can cancel a silent condition without a televiewer being surprised, or feeling displeasure. SOLUTION: The device makes the voice output a silent condition on the basis of an input mute signal from an operation button (a mute button), and at the same time, comprises a voice mute measure which makes the silent condition canceled on the basis of a mute cancel signal which cancels the silent condition, and returns the voice output to a volume before canceling the voice output.
