PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve user friendliness by enabling easily designating pixel missing generated on a display device such as a liquid crystal display panel in a television receiver. SOLUTION: A first image 31 in which a black cross cursor 33 is displayed on a red background image 32, and a second image 36 in which a red cross cursor 38 is displayed on a black background image 37, are alternately displayed as a red pixel missing designating image on a liquid crystal display at a predetermined time interval. In this way, an image 34 missing a black pixel can be designated when the first image 31 is displayed, and an image missing a red image can be designated when the second image 36 is displayed.
