PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AD conversion method for obtaining a digital signal with high resolution even when an AD conversion circuit with low resolution is used through the use of an inexpensive and small constitution for performing conversion in the range of the AD conversion circuit. SOLUTION: The AD conversion method converts an analog signal which has amplitude smaller than each interval of a plurality of output voltage values into the digital signal with the use of the AD conversion circuit 20 for converting the analog signal by the predetermined prescribed resolution into the digital signal including the plurality of output voltage values. An offset voltage having a prescribed voltage value is applied to the analog signal, so that the voltage value of the analog signal is made close to one of the plurality of output voltages of the digital signal based on the prescribed resolution of the AD conversion circuit 20. Then, the analog signal with the prescribed offset voltage applied thereto is converted into the digital signal by the AD conversion circuit 20. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
