PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire precursor of Nb-Sn compound superconductive wire which turns into Nb<SB>3</SB>Sn superconductive wire by performing heat treatment for improving Jc property and controlling increase of Q<SB>h</SB>property. SOLUTION: The Nb-Sn compound superconductive wire precursor has a structure with a number of modules in each of which Nb based metal filaments are arranged concentrically around a Sn based metal core in a Cu based metal matrix. The amount of Sn based metal core is adjusted so that a boundary of anεphase bronze layer, which is formed by the reaction between Sn in the Sn based metal core and the Cu based metal matrix by heat treatment on the module, includes all of the Nb based metal filament or at a rate between about 0.05 and about 0.35.
