PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for joining together the components of a drive shaft and enabling machining components with a comparatively high allowance. SOLUTION: A drive shaft assembly 10 comprises a first component 26 having a hole; a second component 28 contained in the hole; and a torque ring 30. The torque ring is contained in the hole and situated between the first component and the second component. The torque ring has a plurality of teeth at least partially elastically deforming such that a radial load is applied on the first and second components and prevents relatively axial movement and rotational movement between the first and second components.
