PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electroluminescent-phosphor and an element having high luminance and high durability and to provide a light source offering high luminance and high durability by using this. SOLUTION: The electroluminescent phosphor comprises the particles having an average particle diameter of from not less than 0.5μm to not more than 20μm, and having a variation factor in the particle diameter of not more than 35%, and furthermore 50% or more of which particles comprising a particle having such a stacking fault as is piled up with 10 or more layers at intervals of 5 nm or less, the said particle containing copper of 1×10<SP>-4</SP>- 1×10<SP>-2</SP>mol/mol and gold of 1×10<SP>-6</SP>- 5×10<SP>-4</SP>mol/mol.
