PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder capable of reliably feeding a plurality of paper sheets one by one to the last paper sheet. SOLUTION: A paper sheet supporting face 121 in a second tray 120 with an angle of inclination with respect to a horizontal plane smaller than that of a first tray having a lift plate 111 to press a front portion of the paper sheet against a paper feed roller 90 which is abutted on the highest paper sheet, separates the highest paper sheet by a retard roller 130 and feeds it, is connected to a rear part of the first tray 110 inclined with respect to the horizontal plane H, and supports a rear portion of the paper sheet is in a range of the angle formed between a paper sheet supporting face 111a1 at the lift-up position 111a of the lift plate when the maximum stackable number of paper sheets are stacked in the first tray and a paper sheet supporting face 111b1 at the lift-up position 111b of the lift plate when one paper sheet is supported by the first tray.
