PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lid opening and closing supporting tool for a container with a lid capable of easily opening and closing the lid of the container having the lid by a single hand. SOLUTION: The lid opening and closing supporting tool is used when opening and closing a lid 12 of a container 10 having the lid which comprises a container body 11 having an opening, and a lid 12 screwed into the opening of the container body 11 by a screwing means, and comprises a wire 20 wound around the container body 11 with one end 21 side supported by a supporter 40, and an engagement member 30 which is interposed between the wire 20 provided at the other end 22 of the wire 20 and wound therearound and the container body 11, and frictionally engaged with the container body 11. The engagement member 30 is constituted of a roller 31 to turn the container body 11, the roller 31 is provided on the other end 22 of the wire 20 so as to be turnable, and the roller 31 has an elastic member 37 elastically brought into contact with the container body 11.
