In an electric motor driving device, an electric current to flow through an inverter (6) is detected. When a reference voltage value (Vref1) preset in a first current protection unit (8) is exceeded, first abnormal information is outputted simultaneously as the output of a driver (7) is interrupted, so that a drive signal generation unit (5) interrupts a drive signal instantly to prevent the breakage of the inverter (6). In case a reference voltage (Vref2) of a second current protection unit (9), as set to a lower value than the reference voltage value (Vref1), is exceeded, second abnormal information is outputted so that the drive signal generation unit (5) interrupts the drive signal instantly. When the second abnormal information is not inputted after that, the drive signal is outputted again to prevent the breakage of the inverter (6) without stopping a brushless motor (3) frequently. |
