The method involves plastically deforming a sheet metal end segment (21a) for formation of clamping and bearing surface (19) for a bearing flange of an electrical machine, after packaging the sheet metal segments to a rectangular laminated sheet package (13) and before inserting stator winding in grooves (25) of the package. The rectangular package is axially fixed in an embossing die for deformation of the end segments. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) an electrical machine with a stator (B) a rectangular stator - laminated sheet package.
