CATALYST FOR STEAM-REFORMING HYDROCARBON AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE CATALYST

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for steam-reforming a hydrocarbon, the activity of which is improved by increasing an absolute quantity of an active component to be deposited on the surface layer of a carrier and the service life of which is prolonged and to provide a method for manufacturing this catalyst.

SOLUTION: This catalyst for steam-reforming the hydrocarbon is manufactured by depositing the active component on the carrier by an impregnation method, treating the active component-deposited carrier with an alkali of the amount smaller than a stoichiometric ratio at an alkali treatment step and extracting a part of the active component temporarily deposited inside the carrier and retaining the residual active component on the surface layer of the carrier at a reduction step.
