<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor for producing a synthesis gas containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide as main components by a catalytic partial oxidation method, which is equipped with a gas mixing system for uniformly mixing a raw material gas mainly comprising lower hydrocarbons and an oxidizing gas containing oxygen and supplying the resulting mixture to a catalyst layer at a uniform flow rate. <P>SOLUTION: A gas permeation layer, a plurality of tubes which penetrate the gas permeation layer in the axis direction and have ends opened toward downstream, a gas mixing space formed at the downstream of the gas permeation layer and openings of the plurality of tubes, and a catalyst layer formed at the downstream of the gas mixing space are provided in a tubular vessel. The raw material gas is made to pass through the gas permeation layer and ejected to the gas mixing space, and the oxidizing gas is ejected to the gas mixing space from the openings of the plurality of the tubes. The raw material gas and oxidizing gas ejected to the gas mixing space are mutually mixed to form a substantially homogeneous mixed gas and made to pass through the catalyst layer so as to be converted into the synthesis gas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
