<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell film/electrode junction in which no shrinkage nor wrinkle occurs at the periphery (an exposed part from a gas diffusion electrode) of a polyelectrolyte film, with increased adhesion to a gasket when assembled in a cell for improved gas sealing characteristics, and also to provide a method of manufacturing the fuel cell film/electrode junction hot-pressing the junction with no shrinkage or wrinkle by deformation at the periphery of the polyelectrolyte film. <P>SOLUTION: When hot-pressing a polyelectrolyte film 2 and gas diffusion electrodes 3 and 3, the central part of the electrolyte film 2 is pinched with the gas diffusion electrodes 3 and 3. Pressurizing of a laminate 1 where the outer edge of electrolyte film 2 exposed from the gas diffusion electrode 3 is covered with polymer sheets 4 and 4 is started at such low temperature zone from room temperature to 100°C.
