POWER OUTPUT DEVICE, AUTOMOBILE MOUNTING IT, CONTROL METHOD OF POWER OUTPUT DEVICE, AND DRIVING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control start of an internal combustion engine under improperly engaged condition of a brake of a transmission in a hybrid car to which an internal combustion engine, a generator and a drive shaft are connected through the medium of a planetary gear mechanism and in which an electric motor is connected to the drive shaft through the medium of the transmission.

SOLUTION: When a value obtained by dividing required torque Tr* of a drive shaft by gear ratio Gr of a transmission is less than prescribed torque Tmc at instruction of start of an internal combustion engine, excessive torque of the electric motor with respect to the required torque Tr* is controlled to be canceled with a generator by utilizing reaction force generated by friction of the internal combustion engine while controlling the prescribed torque Tmc to be outputted from an electric motor (S130-S150) so as to confirm that a brake is properly engaged (S170-S240). When the engagement is confirmed, the internal combustion engine starts. By so doing, start of the internal combustion engine under improperly engaged state of the brake can be prevented to suppress the occurrence of shock.
