<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the influence of noise scattered into air or to reduce noise generated by electronic components and also to perform the excess length processing of an optical fiber in the limited space in the housing of a light transmitting and receiving module. <P>SOLUTION: A storage part 201 which performs the excess length processing of an optical fiber 105a is provided at the upper part of an excess length processing tray 102 and a shield part 200 in which cover-shaped space where fixing legs 202 electrically connected to the ground of a substrate 101 is formed at the lower part of the storage part 201.
