PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing toner and a manufacturing apparatus for manufacturing with high yield a toner having a small amount of a positive charging toner, sharp distribution of charge amounts, and excellent durability for printing a large number of sheets. SOLUTION: The method and apparatus for manufacturing toner employ a spherical mixing tank having such a structure that an object flow regulating plate which changes the flowing direction of the object to a direction along the rotation axis of a driving shaft is attached to a cylindrical member placed in the mixing tank. Spherical resin particles having 1.05 to 1.40 shape factor (ML2/A), 1.05 to 1.30 shape factor (PM2/A) and 100 to 130°C flow softening point (Tf1/2) and containing at least a colorant, and external additive particles are supplied as the object to the spherical mixing tank and mixed.
